Sita Calvert - Ennals's blog

January 2011

New year, and lots of projects in development. Ive just finnished working on a work in progress  sharing of Bookshop. A  lovely piece inspired by an Antiquarian bookshop in london supported by Ferment at Bristol Old Vic. The piece will be developed for disused shops around the country, but for  our  sharing we created our own shop out of cardboard in Bristol Old Vic's basement!.

Autumn projects

I have recently started directing a new show. This is a large scale youth theatre production at the egg theatre in Bath. The show is Holes by Louis Sachar, with a brand new bluegrass musical score created by Sarah Moody.. ( more info on projects page). It opens November 27th and runs for two weeks.

Summer projects

I am currently spending the summer running lots of different summer schools for various different ages and directing a great new live art piece called "Gimme the Beat Girls" a musical and theatrical journey invoking the spirit of the lost voices of the female beat poets. It will be performed as a work in progress at Prototype at the Tobacco factory theatre www.tobaccofactorytheatre.co.uk Sept 7th. More soon..
