Residence in Residence

So we’ve teamed up with our friends at New Work Network, Theatre Bristol and the good people of The Tobacco Factory in Bristol, who are letting us move in for two days, and we'd love you to join us.

There’ll be performances from Ed Rapley, Search Party, Tom Wainwright, Muddled State and Tom Marshman. Installations from Jo Bannon and Tinned Fingers, and there’ll be a party, with party pieces from Action Hero and Tom Marshman. We’ll be sleeping the night in the theatre and the following day you’ll be able to see documentation of what we got up to in our pyjamas.

Between the performances we’ll be serving dinner and there’ll be a morning after breakfast to recover from the night before. Plus there’ll be a one off Tiny Ideas special for non-Residence artists to show their work in its most fragile early form in front of an ultra supportive audience. We’ll have discussion with other artist led projects Forest Fringe, Showroom, The institute for the art and practice of dissent at home and Live Art Falmouth, as well as 5 provocateurs given 5 minutes to present 5 provocations on the subject of New Work. Keep an eye on our website for more to follow. Click read more for current full programme of events

A Western at Edinburgh British Council Showcase

After our hugely positive experience of forest fringe last year in Edinburgh, we’re returning again this year for 6 nights. From the 24th August – 29th August we’ll be performing ‘A Western’ at Forest Fringe at 10:15pm. Get there early and enjoy a drink at the bar, its a limited capacity.

‘A Western’ is presented as part of the British Council Showcase.

Residence in Residence

From Friday 11th to Saturday 12th September, Residence will be moving in to the Tobacco Factory and calling it home. They'll be hosting drinks, dinner and then a breakfast to recover the morning after the night before. Between the food and the friendly chat there will be discussion and debate about theatre, work-in-progress showings, open rehearsals and the opportunity to meet other theatre-makers and audiences.

Watch Me Fall

Action hero will be performing 'Watch Me Fall' at the Inn Motion festival in Barcelona on the 3rd and 4th July 09.

A Western

Action Hero will be performing 'A Western' in Chester on 11th June at 8pm

“Resolutely off-kilter but entirely accessible…..brilliant….immensely clever” Metro

We want to make a Western. We have a cowboy hat and some ketchup. We want the scene where our hero walks into the bar and everyone stops talking. We want the scene where the whore begs to be loved. We want to cheat at cards. We want blood and guns.
Everyone will have a moustache. All the bad guys laugh. Dust blows across a deserted street. Music.

Watch Me Fall

Action Hero will be performing 'Watch Me Fall' at BAC, London on 20th May at 7:30pm as part of Burst

I’m going over in a barrel. I’m leaving the cannon, hitting the ramp at 90mph and clearing ten double decker buses.

I might fall. I might break my body into several pieces, but then I’ll pick myself up, dust myself off and do it all over again.

This time, I’m going higher, further and faster. Tonight, I will attempt the impossible.

Watch Me Fall

Action Hero will be performing 'Watch Me Fall' at The Arches in Glasgow on the 16th May at 7pm and running a workshop for emerging artists from 11am
