Resisence in Residence Provocations

A short while ago now, as part of our 'Residence in Residence' weekender at the Tobacco Factory on 11th and 12th September we held a series of simultaneous dsicussion events all starting with a different provocation to find a 'new way of...' Each discussion event began with a provocation written by someone working in that area, the provocations were;

new ways of developing new work by Hannah @ New work Network,
new ways of funding new work by Gary @ The institute of Art and Dissent at Home,
new ways of touring new work by Kate @ Mayfest and BOV and

Collecting more Claims To Fame at Greenroom and Mayfest

Over the next few weeks I will be touring the country (well Manchester and then back home to Bristol) collecting people's favourite famous encounter as part of my new work, Claim To Fame, which I will showing at Greenrom Maanchester and at Bristol Old Vic and the Tobacco Factory Theatre in Bristol as part of this years Mayfest. So if you haven't yet told me about the time you shared a sandwich with Ulrika Johnson then here's your chance...

Where have Matthew and Kate gone?

It's that time again, when the clocks go forward, the nights get longer and Kate and Matthew disappear into a Mayfest shaped hole.

Yes, it's April, and planning for this year's festival is reaching fever pitch. We're often to be found in the deserted upstairs cafe at Bristol Old Vic, surrounded by laptops and brochures, sweating a bit.

Check out photos on Flickr from The Flaw Set in May, which was something of a Residence take over. We had toasts raised by Kettle of Fish, songs from The Wonder Club, an interpretation of Joni Mitchell's Blue by Tom Marshman and Iain Morrison, Ed Rapley and The Special Guests.

Here's the link. Enjoy.

Hi Hi,

A reminder about Action Hero and Drunken Chorus this Monday at the Tobacco Factory. If you haven't seen Drunken Chorus before, they're a really lovely company and Lost and Found is a great show - well worth catching Residence's North West contemporaries! And of course Residence's own Action Hero. It's a bargain night with tickets at £8 (£6 conc), so that's basically £4 (£3) a show......
